1991年至1992年，CAPCOM的格斗、动作游戏狂潮席卷世界各地的游戏厅。1992年，《怒之铁拳》的续作终于出现了。日版名叫“BARE KNUCKLE II――死斗者的镇魂歌”，欧美版名叫“STREETS OF RAGE2”。我们把它缩写为BK2和SOR2。许多玩家第一眼看到这部作品时，简直有惊艳的感觉。这已经不是普通意义上的续作，而是一部脱胎换骨的作品。短短一年的时间竟然制作出如此高水准的作品，看得出制作者是在拿街机的标准来要求本作，充分吸收了CAPCOM经典街机动作游戏的精华，并加入自己的许多创意。BK2采用了新技术，游戏容量为16M，这也是当时MD卡带的最高容量。
